Nel corso dell’estate del 2018 l’Associazione Nelson Mandela Forum ha effettuato  alcuni importanti interventi di efficentamento energetico della struttura. L’azione è stata co-finanziata dalla regione Toscana nell’ambito degli interventi finanziati dal Bando Regionale 2017 “Aiuti a progetti di Efficientamento energetico degli immobili” emanato dalla Regione Toscana, del Programma Operativo Regionale FESR 2014-2020.
L’intervento, del valore complessivo di 213.334 Euro, e che ha beneficiato di un co-finanziamento di Euro 82.377,76, ha visto la sostituzione della Centrale termica originariamente installata nella struttura alla prima metà degli anni ’80 ed il cui dimensionamento si è dimostrato esuberante rispetto ai fabbisogni reali dell’impianto.
Complessivamente sono stati effettuati i seguenti interventi:
La sostituzione dei due generatori di calore con altri di potenza adeguata alle reali necessità della struttura;
2. Installazione di pompe di circolazione sotto inverter al fine di rendere ottimali le condizioni di lavoro dei generatori di calore in regime di condensazione;
3. sistema di compensazione climatica che adegui la temperatura di mandata alle reali necessità climatiche;
4. sostituzione dell’isolamento termico delle tubazioni usurate;
5. Modifiche della impiantistica meccanica (collegamento con pompe, modifica tubazione metano ecc.) ed elettrica (nuovo quadro elettrico, elettrificazione di tutti i componenti in CT ecc.).
Grazie all’intervento la potenza termica impiegata scende da 3.546 Kw a 1.308 Kw, quasi dimezzando la capacità produttiva dell’impianto, che da 1.180.818 Kwh va a 654.000 Kwh, con vantaggi sia per la bolletta energetica della struttura che in termini di emissioni nell’ambiente; cui corrisponde un effettivo risparmio sui consumi per la climatizzazione del 13,7%.

During the summer of 2018, the Nelson Mandela Forum Association carried out some important measures aimed at improving the energy efficiency of the structure. The action was co-financed by the Tuscany region as part of the interventions financed by the 2017 Regional Call “Aid for energy efficiency projects for buildings” of the Tuscany Region, launched under the ERDF Regional Operational Program 2014-2020.

The intervention, had the total value of 213,334 euros, and benefited from a co-financing of 82,377.76 euros. The intervention replaced the thermal power plant originally installed in the structure in the first half of the 1980s and that was proved to be oversized compared to the real needs.

Overall the action carried out the following interventions:

1. The replacement of the two heat generators with others of a power consistent with the current needs of the structure;
2. Installation of circulation pumps with inverters in order to optimize the working conditions of the heat generators in condensation mode;
3. climatic compensation system matching the flow temperature to the actual climatic needs;
4. thermal insulation replacement in worn pipes;
5. mechanical systems modifications (such as pumps connection, modification of natural gas pipes etc.) and electrical systems (new electrical panel, electrification of all components in CT etc.).

Thanks to the intervention, the thermal power used drops from 3,546 Kw to 1,308 Kw, thus almost halving the production capacity of the system, which goes from 1,180,818 Kwh to 654,000 Kwh, with advantages both for the structure’s energy bill as well as in terms of emissions in the environment; with a an effective saving on consumption for heating of 13.7%.
