Information to facilitate access

The requalification process and the functional adjustment of the venue NMF, started in 2004 and now coming to the conclusion of its first fase, had as primary tasks acoustic optimization, increasing capability, enlarging and reclamation of restrooms, knocking down architectonic barriers, new organization of the main entrance in Viale Paoli, recovering some rooms that were not used as to create a cultural path and a teaching method, new corporate identity.
Therefore we tried to improve the structure together with changing its name, in order to give concreteness to the theoretical assumptions by important architectonic changes. In this perspective, guided by the decision to make the venue open to all citizens as art.1 of the Statute of the Association says, we have been very much engaged in the breaking down of barriers to disabled people.
According to Italian laws (Law 09/01/89 n°13; D.M. 14/06/89 n°236; Regional Law 09/09/91 Nà47; Law 05/02/92 n°104; D.P.R. 24/07/96 n°503) we established to eliminate barriers, where they exist, with ramps as to assure the use of the venue by disabled people, according to specifications of art.8.1.11 of D.M. 236/89. All the changes are made to assure accessibility to persons with handicap.
In conclusion, regarding bathrooms for disabled people, the venue provides 1 w.c. for disabled people, both in the men an women sectors, at the ground floor in the offices area and at the first floor. The toilettes existing at the first floor in the offices area and at the ground floor near the service entrance in Viale Malta are confirmed. All other toilettes have been projected as to facilitate access and to permit easy movements inside.
